| "A person’s will is embodied in the actions of the whole person. I cannot give up my will— I must exercise it, putting it into action. I must will to obey, and I must will to receive God’s Spirit. When God gives me a vision of truth, there is never a question of what He will do, but only of what I will do." O. Chambers. July 8.
This reminds me strongly of a question asked by one of the speakers at Passion '07, Beth Moore. She made the statement that we are always, continually asking if we can trust God - when, in fact, the question should be "Can God trust us?" When we hear the Words in scripture "Thus says the Lord", and rebellion rises up in our hearts even as we say that we will serve Him, we should remember that God is asking for obedience of our will; our will conforming actively to His.
When Joshua was leading the long-time nomad people of Israel to the edge of the promised land, he challenged them to "Choose you this day whom you will serve." Joshua said this immediately after urging them to sincerity and faithfulness, and to be witness to their own commitment, knowing that the first human reaction is naturally duplicity. So Joshua set up a memorial stone in that place as evidence of the covenant between God and this unruly people. And then Joshua sent off "every man to his inheritance" in the promised land. And finally, the long-awaited rest was theirs! And is ours, even as we actively conform our will to His, because there is never a question of how good and perfect is His will. Joshua 24:14-28

| It's been a long while since I've posted, but life definitely hasn't been boring! Neither Boone nor I wanted a boring American life, and we both want to be yielded to whatever God desires, but just a warning, be careful what you ask for - God may just move you in ways you don't expect!
Here are the bullet points:
Boone and I got married, had a great OBX honeymoon.
Boone moved into the house.
We had Thanksgiving in SC with Boone's family.
We had a miscarriage. (Elijah Noel, we miss you)
Christmas with my family.
We rolled and totaled Boone's Tahoe.
Bought a great little Saab!
Add in a few flat tires for the ever-faithful Toyota and new parts for the Saab.
Closed down Boone's business.
Boone joined the Navy.
Lost my job at the hospital. (That was a humbling experience.)
We worked the HEAV convention - what a blessing!
So most recently we have both been searching for summer jobs in the area until (hopefully) October when Boone will head out to boot camp for a few months. We are preparing to rent the house so the mortgage will be covered, so we are packing and will be moving everything into storage.
And now we are about to embark on another grand adventure! So be careful what you ask for, cause you might get it!

| A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell. C. S. Lewis | | |
| And that's what I've been saying to the many wonderful friends who I am finally catching up with. The day of the wedding draws near, and just so I long to draw near all of those who are dear to me! :) The past 5 months since the engagement have been so busy - work, sleep deprivation, joy in the future, o, and wedding planning!
Work has been good - I'm still working about an hour away from the house. I am still in cardiac surgery nursing (post-surgery recovery) and am working night shift on the weekends. Church is fantastic - so many wonderful new friends and Boone and I have officially joined Christ Pres.
The house is organized chaos. Three roommates in the past year, all sadly out a few months ago - to make way for a husband. Boone's stuff is beginning to arrive, a little bit each trip he makes so there is a growing pile of boxes in the living room. One of the front bedrooms has no carpeting because we have to refloor the bedroom to use as Boone's shop, and the other room is crammed full with wedding presents, pictures, and misc items that have no home, yet!
So my dear friends, life is chaotic right now, but I am thinking of you and hoping soon to be in contact! :) Blessings, sweet ones!
:) 15 days!
